The Indo-American (AMN) Health and Research Foundation (“Foundation,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to safeguarding the privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of personal data entrusted to us by beneficiaries, honorees, fellows, donors, researchers, participants, volunteers, and visitors.

  • Educational and professional background, curriculum vitae, nominations, and fellowship-related submissions

2.2 Health and Mental Health Information

  • Information voluntarily disclosed during health initiatives or MARS support sessions

  • Case records, follow-up notes, or wellness-related information where applicable

2.3 Technical and Usage Data

  • IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system

  • Website usage patterns, navigation behavior, cookies, and analytics data

2.4 Research and Academic Data

  • Survey responses, interview transcripts, consent documentation

  • Anonymized or aggregated datasets used for scientific analysis or publication

2.5 Biometric and Attendance Verification Data

  • Fingerprint or facial recognition data collected solely for event attendance and identity verification

  • Geo-tagged photographs captured for in-person verification and compliance


3. Purpose of Data Processing

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Delivery of healthcare, mental health, research, education, and capacity-building services

  • Operation of MARS and response to counseling or support requests

  • Processing of nominations, fellowships, honors, and program participation (including NPHRS and Nova Hikari (光))

  • Identity verification, biometric attendance, and event security

  • Research evaluation, public health planning, and academic dissemination

  • Communication of updates, confirmations, reports, and official notifications

  • Compliance with legal, tax, regulatory, and reporting obligations


4. Legal Basis for Processing

Personal data is processed on one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • Consent, where explicitly provided (e.g., helpline support, research participation)

  • Contractual necessity, such as event registration or fellowship application

  • Legal obligation, including identity verification and statutory reporting

The Foundation does not sell or commercially exploit personal data. Limited data may be disclosed only to:

Upon expiry of the retention period, data is securely deleted, anonymized, masked, or archived in accordance with internal retention policies and applicable law.
